Ted Cruz: Obama Is The Most 'Radical' President

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) called President Barack Obama "the most radical president we've ever seen" in a CBN interview published on Wednesday.

Cruz also targeted his own party, claiming some Republicans "fail to stand for principle and contributed to getting us in this mess."

Cruz has a history of being critical of the president's position on gun control. In January, he called Obama's gun control proposals "unconstitutional."

Not long after those comments, Cruz stated his support for an NRA ad that called Obama a "hypocrite" and was highly criticized for citing security for the president's daughters.

Cruz's criticism of Obama extended to the president's defense secretary nominee, Republican and former Nebraska senator Chuck Hagel. At Hagel's confirmation hearing in January, Cruz aggressively probed Hagel for referring to the conflict in Israel as a "sickening slaughter."

The CBN interview was not the first time Cruz has called Obama the most radical president. During a speech videotaped near the Republican National Convention last summer he made the same claim to a group of conservatives. He added to that charge by declaring that "I fear for our country" if Obama should win reelection.
