Derrick Rose Dunk: Injured Star Dunked During Warmups Before Bulls-Thunder Game (VIDEO)

WATCH: Rose Throws Down, Lifts Spirits Of Bulls Fans

He's getting closer.

Less than two weeks after saying his "leg still isn't feeling right", Derrick Rose surprised fans with an impromptu progress report on his recovery from a torn ACL in his left knee. As his teammates warmed up to face the Oklahoma City Thunder on Sunday, the 2011 NBA MVP threw down a two-handed jam.

While Rose's dunk didn't look nearly as emphatic as the ones we're used to when he's in uniform, it still caught the attention of some on Twitter.

Through it's still unclear when Rose will be able to return, Thunder point guard Russell Westbrook said after the game that his counterpart is getting closer.

"I’ve communicated with him a few times," Westbrook said, via the Chicago Sun-Times. "I see that he’s getting better. He’s almost close to coming back."

Chicago looked like they badly needed Rose during the game as Oklahoma City went on to win by 30.
