Chelsea Handler was so excited about the birthday present she'd managed to get for herself this year. She finally managed to book the youngest ever Best Actress Oscar nominee, Quvenzhané Wallis, on "Chelsea Lately." Wallis was nominated for her work in "Beasts of the Southern Wild," and could be seen smiling the whole way through the Oscar ceremony.
While she didn't win the award, that didn't dampen her smile or her spirits. And she continued to be just as delightful during her appearance on "Chelsea Lately."
Wallis said of the Oscars, "They were great." And it was clear that she's been embracing and enjoying every step of this stratospheric ride she's been on.
The ride isn't over, either, as Wallis was just confirmed to replace Willow Smith in the title role for the upcoming remake of "Annie." She told Chelsea she must be good at singing to have landed that role. Why didn't she sing during the Oscars, considering it was all about honoring the songs and music of the movies?
Maybe after "Annie" comes out in 2014.
