Detroit City Council Considers Suing State Over Emergency Manager Law

DETROIT, MI -- City Council today directed its research and analysis division and the city's law department to explore suing the state over its emergency manager law.

Member JoAnn Watson argued that there is no significant difference between the financial emergency law passed at the end of last year, Public Act 436, and the one voters rejected statewide in a November referendum, PA 4.
