Fernando Del Rincon Promotes CNN Latino On The Road

CNN Host Promotes New Venture

Veteran news anchor Fernando del Rincon will take the show on the road as he gears up promotion for CNN’s new venture — CNN Latino.

Rincón, who counts on 27 years of reporting experience, will host his show “Panorama USA” in front of a live audience Thursday and Friday in Los Angeles.

CNN Latino out to break stereotypes

In a phone interview Rincon told VOXXI that his new show will focus on Hispanics from Latin America and those living in the U.S. He adds, that his newscast will break the stereotype of what is “mainstream news” and what is “Latino news.”

“One of the things that sets CNN en Español apart is that we don’t group or stereotype news,” he said.

“Latinos are Hispanic by culture. They are Hispanic by language, but they are global citizens. There isn’t a cookie-cutter news item for them, news is news and it is our job to present it,” Rincón added.

Rincón will host his show from Plaza Mexico in Lynwood and Friday from Plaza La Alameda in Walnut Park. Both will air from 2 to 5 p.m.

Rincón also anchors CNN en Español’s “Conclusiones,” a primetime program that covers current events, combining in-depth analysis of the most important news of the day.

“Our goal is to involve everyone so that people are more aware of who we are as Latinos.”
