Mexican actress Kate del Castillo is giving life to what may be one of the most complex characters in her career, a violent Chicano transsexual trapped behind bars in the disturbing thriller “K-11.”
The movie, which is schedule to premier on March 15, was directed by Jules Stewart (mother of actress Kristen Stewart) and revolves around music executive Ray Saxx Jr. (Goran Visnjic), who after a night of massive drug consumption finds himself in a unique section of a Los Angeles jail.
Surrounded by criminal transvestites, addicts, and mentally unstable fellow prisoners and corrupt officials, he will attempt to survive as he figures out how exactly he got himself into this situation. (Check Out The Trailer Above)
Del Castillo’s role, as Julio ‘Mousey’ Ruiz, prisoner leader of the criminal institution, will be to control the area apparently reserved for gay male convicts and make sure Saxx has more than enough reasons to find an escape.
The actress also made headlines this week after rumors of an alleged romantic relationship between her and Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa surfaced. The star hasn’t denied or confirmed the reports, but did assure they enjoy spending time together.
