Missouri Mother Allegedly Puts Condom In Daughter's Underwear To Trick Ex-Husband

Mother Allegedly Puts Condom In 5-Year-Old Daughter's Underwear

A woman's attempt to sabotage her ex-husband's new relationship backfired when, as a part of her weird ploy, she put a condom in her 5-year-old daughter's underwear.

Investigators say the 26-year-old mother, from O'Fallon, Mo., instructed the child to later hide the condom in her dad's house, so he would believe his fiance had been unfaithful, O'Fallon Patch reported.

The woman allegedly made the condom appear to have been used, placing it against her daughter's skin and near the vaginal area, according to KMOV.com.

St. Charles County court records show that the incident occurred on May 3. On that date, police were called because the girl was distressed when she returned to her father's house, the St. Louis Post Dispatch reported. Authorities say she hid behind a shower curtain and described the condom as "yucky."

On February 22, her mother was charged with third-degree assault because she gave the child the condom knowing that the contact would be considered "offensive or provocative."

It's unclear why it has taken nearly a year for the mother to be charged. The St. Charles County Sheriff's Office didn't respond to inquiries from The Huffington Post.

The mother is not being identified to protect the child's identity.
