Piers Morgan's Show Renamed 'Piers Morgan Live'

Piers Morgan's show will be renamed "Piers Morgan Live," and will air live Monday through Thursday.

The host tweeted the news on Thursday. He told The New York Post that he had wanted to do his show live, like his predecessor Larry King.

"I always wanted it that way but, when I began, I was under contract to ‘America’s Got Talent’ and couldn’t work out the schedules," Morgan explained. "Now that I’m not one of those talent judges anymore, I have the time."

“So, with Jeff Zucker coming in, taking over, bringing up new ideas, I went to him and thought it’s a good idea to revamp,” he said.

The show's executive producer Jonathan Wald tweeted this photo of the new name on Thursday:

The show currently airs some episodes live and tapes other episodes. The change is the latest shift at CNN, which is undergoing a major programming overhaul under Zucker. Morgan's show has largely remained untouched relative to the rest of the lineup. The revamping has included a new show hosted by Jake Tapper and new, unannounced morning show with Chris Cuomo and possibly Erin Burnett.
