Matt Bellamy Didn't Want To Be A Rock Star, But Ended Up Fronting Muse

Matt Bellamy is one of the world's biggest rock stars, but it turns out the Muse frontman didn't always have a guitar in mind.

"When I was younger, my dream was always to be in music, but I didn’t have any dream to be a rock star," Bellamy told The Sun. “I wanted to be in a classical band or a jazz band. So when I started, I wanted to learn the jazz piano, or maybe the clarinet."

Of course, Bellamy's probably not too upset with his rock star status. Muse's lastest album, "The 2nd Law," debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard charts during an especially crowded week of new releases. The record received mixed reviews (see below), though Bellamy admitted that he was "disappointed" with the final product.

The group also canceled a string of shows when Bellamy suffered a foot injury in November. No need to pity Bellamy too much, though -- with a strong career and Kate Hudson as a partner, things can't be that bad. (No word yet on whether or not Bellamy's childhood dreams included being engaged to a Hollywood actress.)
