The United States Holocaust Memorial Museum's 20th Anniversary tour of the country stopped in NYC last weekend. Some 2,500 people, many of them Holocaust survivors and WWII veterans, attended the Sunday event, held at the Hilton New York

Visitors were invited to watch rare historical footage from the Holocaust, talk to the museum's curators, and attend an hour-long tribute ceremony to survivors and veterans who now live in the tri-state area.

The anniversary tour continues on April 28th in Washington D.C., and on June 9th, in Chicago.

A recent, shocking report From the USHMM concluded that there were over 40,000 Nazi camps from 1933 to 1945, during Hitler's reign of terror. The number is significantly higher than most historians had estimated previously.
