Seven Ways Women Are Still Falling Behind On International Women's Day

Today is International Women’s Day, a day originally started more than 100 years ago by socialist organizers who saw that the wealth generated by capitalism wasn’t trickling down to its female half. So a century later, how have women fared economically? The numbers aren’t pretty. A recent report from the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development, a group of 34 countries, details all the hurdles that women face in the global economy. Today is a good day to take a look at the many ways we’re still struggling to reach equality.
