Marc Maron Talks Accidentally Offending James Franco During Live 'WTF' Podcast At SXSW (EXCLUSIVE VIDEO)

The Awkward James Franco Interview Everyone's Talking About

AUSTIN, TX -- Marc Maron hosted another live edition of his "WTF" podcast Sunday afternoon at the South By Southwest festival featuring actor and perpetual Rennaissance man James Franco, whom Maron accidentally offended with an offhand remark Sunday evening.

As Maron told HuffPost Comedy in the video above recorded at the Driskill Hotel on Monday morning, a joke about how seriously Franco takes himself resulted in an awkward ending to the panel interview, which also featured NPR host Peter Sagal, comedian Nate Bargatze and "Spring Breakers" director Harmony Korine. Although the audience clearly enjoyed the tense moment, Maron and Franco had an awkward backstage encounter that suggests the "Spring Breakers" star was not in on the joke.

Watch the video above and check our SXSW Comedy live blog for more updates from the festival. Also, be sure to check out his new show "Maron" on IFC on May 3.
