When social news organization Mashable opened shop back in 2005, FORBES 30 Under 30 member Pete Cashmore worked from his Scotland home. And for the next four years every one of his employees enjoyed the same luxurious flexibility in working. According to Chief Strategy Officer Adam Ostrow, the former editor in chief of the site, it actually wasn’t until three years ago that a physical Mashable office even existed, even as the team grew to more than 80 employees and the site’s traffic ballooned to an estimated 50 million monthly pageviews.
