"The Good Wife" is heading to syndication. The CBS legal drama starring Julianna Margulies will air on Hallmark Channel with episodes also coming to Amazon Prime and Hulu Plus.
“This is an off-network model for a unique serialized show in today’s television ecosystem,” Leslie Moonves, president and CEO of CBS Corporation, said in a statement. “It uses creative windowing to serve the content needs of best-in-class partners while realizing the full syndication value for a high-quality series. In addition, the potential for catch-up viewing across multiple platforms can provide incremental value to future broadcasts on the CBS Television Network."
The first three seasons of "The Good Wife" will be available on Amazon Prime starting March 14. Season 4 will be available later in 2013. Previous seasons of "The Good Wife" will be available to Hulu Plus subscribes starting in September 2013.
The Hallmark Channel will begin running "The Good Wife" reruns on weekdays starting January 2014. The syndication deal also allows "The Good Wife" to air as part of weekend syndication starting September 2014.
New episodes of "The Good Wife" air Sundays, 9 p.m. ET on CBS.
