'The Sing Off' Returning For Season 4 On NBC

"The Sing Off" is returning to NBC!

The a cappella reality competition series, which aired from 2009-2012 on the Peacock network, is coming back for a fourth season. NBC's official "Sing Off" website now reads "Returning Soon!" and there is an official casting website. There will be auditions in Chicago, Nashville, LA and New York between April 27 and May 18.

There is no official date set for "The Sing Off's" return.

"The Sing Off," which was hosted by 98 Degrees alum Nick Lachey, was canceled after three seasons on NBC due to low ratings. Originally, Ben Folds, Shawn Stockman of Boyz II Men and Nicole Scherzinger served as judges. For the third season, however, Sarah Bareillis joined the panel when Scherzinger left to join "The X Factor," which she was booted from after one season.

"The Sing Off's" most recent winner Pentatonix has been relatively successful. The fivesome released its debut album, "PTX Volume 1," which climbed to No. 14 on the Billboard 200 and is currently touring. Scott Hoying, the frontman of the group, told Forbes: “I feel like a lot of people are looking for this kind of raw organic sound that’s not really produced ... I think they just want to hear good singing nowadays and I think 'Glee' showcases that. I think 'The Sing Off' showcases that and I think we’re really excited to try to be at the forefront of that movement.”

A request to NBC for more on "The Sing Off" returning was not immediately returned.
