'Idol' Results: Curtis Finch Jr. Goes Home In First Live Elimination For Season 12

Who Went Home On 'Idol'?

The "Idol" results are in!

And it was Curtis Finch Jr. going home in the first live elimination for Season 12.

The singer covered Fantasia's "I Believe" on Wednesday's performance show and sadly, the rendition landed him in the Botttom 2 with Devin Velez. When the results were revealed, "Idol" judge Nicki Minaj said that if Curtis went home, she was going home, but ultimately he earned the lowest number of votes.

Curtis sang R. Kelly's "I Believe I Can Fly" to try to earn a save from the judges. Although Nicki and fellow judge Keith Urban gave him a standing ovation and the crowd was chanting "Save! Save! Save!" Curtis still went home.

Candice Glover, Kree Harrison and Angie Miller made up the Top 3, add more fodder to the beliefs that a woman will take the "Idol" crown this year.

"American Idol" airs Wednesdays and Thursdays at 8 p.m. ET on Fox.
