Katherine, the wife of a marine, was the latest style makeover candidate on "What Not to Wear." Her style was more about feeling close to her husband while he was away. She would wear his clothing, and she just kind of fell into that habit and stayed there.
"When your husband deploys you’re scared more than you’ve ever been in your life, and to just smell his sweatshirt," Katherine explained. "Put on something that was theirs makes you feel a lot better."
She embraced the opportunity, though, and her post-makeover look certainly caught the eye of her husband. "I’ve never seen her in a dress like that," he said. "She looks like a grown woman now and like she’s able and capable to be in charge."
Katherine said that even weeks after the makeover, her husband continues to tell her how beautiful she looks. It was certainly a feel-good resolution for Katherine and her husband, but she'll be one of the last for "What Not to Wear." The show is coming to an end after the current tenth season.
Clinton Kelly told The Washington Post he'll miss helping women express themselves through style. Maybe he can work it into his day gig as a co-host on "The Chew" from time to time.
