Grover Norquist: Put Cameras In Every Classroom (VIDEO)

WATCH: Grover Norquist's Idea Is Sort Of Sane

Anti-tax crusader Grover Norquist wants a camera in every classroom in America, an idea that may raise an eyebrow at first but one that also might be a good point.

“I think that it makes sense to put a television camera in the back of every state college and university course,” said Norquist, founder and president of Americans For Tax Reform, in an interview with the conservative student website Campus Reform.

He claimed professors would show up on time -- he supposed lateness is a problem -- and speak more clearly, which is a totally legitimate point if memory serves. The plan has benefits for viewers too, he said, adding that taxpayers should have free access to the courses and institutions their tax dollars fund.

"Also for people who do silly courses, I'd like them on TV, on YouTube," Norquist added, noting that these have value beyond their quirky titles.

Should the federal government control such a program? Of course not! States should, he said.

"I would prefer to have Ohio decide that the University of Ohio [sic] will be online. Why? ... People in Bangladesh will be watching your English classes," Norquist said, adding that the U.S. Department of Education would just "screw it up" if it got involved.

Norquist told The Huffington Post that the idea works for K-12 classes too, so parents can better help children with their homework. In this case, only the teacher will be on the camera, he said, citing privacy concerns.

So we wonder...
