Ronald Fletcher, Naked Man 'High On Jesus,' Arrested Outside Alabama High School

Naked Suspect: 'I'm High On Jesus'

Police in Decatur, Ala., arrested a naked man for indecent exposure outside a local high school on Monday. Although the suspect reportedly claimed divine inspiration for his antics, his actions were anything but righteous.

According to school officials, suspect Ronald Ray Fletcher said he was "high on Jesus" following a streak of mischief that disrupted classes during an afternoon thunderstorm.

Fletcher, 27, allegedly stripped naked and began "parading himself" in front of classroom windows after school officials refused to let him check a student out of school early. School officials said the man also urinated on cars, drove his car in circles on a field owned by the school and threw hubcaps.

According to the Decatur Daily, witnesses in a classroom said that hail from an afternoon thunderstorm dissipated at the moment Fletcher came into view. School officials told the newspaper that Fletcher "lifted his arms to the sky as though inviting lightning to strike him."

It is unclear if Fletcher has any affiliation with the school. The Huffington Post contacted Decatur City Schools for comment, but inquiries were not returned as of press time. This article will be updated when new information becomes available.

According to ABC local affiliate WAAY, Morgan County mental health workers are investigating whether Fletcher had been receiving treatment for mental illness.

While suspects have cited divine inspiration for delinquent behavior, Fletcher's case is fortunate in that no one was hurt or threatened with violence.

In June 2010, a naked man "yelling that he was Jesus" caused a five-car pileup on Interstate 95 outside Norwalk, Conn. At least three people were injured in that accident, the New York Daily News reported at the time.

In 2011 -- also in Norwalk -- a naked man who claimed he was Jesus was arrested following a disturbance at the home of an acquaintance. In that case, the man was invited inside a woman's home, then proceeded to take his clothes off, punch a hole in a wall and knock over furniture.
