HBO Latino, Home Box Office’s dedicated Spanish-language premium channel, has announced a fresh roster of premium series, films and specials for the spring 2013 TV season.
Notably, the first season of the HBO Latin America series Preamar and the two-part telefilm Mandrake, a follow-up to HBO Latin America’s drama series of the same name, will both make their US TV premieres on the channel. Both are Brazilian imports.
Preamar (Brazil) follows João Ricardo Velasco, a successful businessman who has just lost everything, except his glamorous apartment, in the stock market. João finds a new career working for Xeriffe, an organization that controls the informal marketplace of Rio’s beaches, all the while keeping the truth about his dire financial situation from his wife, children and in-laws.
