There are so many evident places that need tending to while spring cleaning, like our mattresses and carpets. But there are some not-so-obvious spots in our homes that need attention, like our lighting. But if your luminaries are covered in grime, chances are your whole house is looking a little dim. Luckily, TLC's How Stuff Works found a great way to dust light bulbs easily.
First, make sure your light is turned off and cool to the touch. Then, simply wipe it with a lint-free cloth and, that's it. You're done! If you prefer to remove the bulb to give it a rub, Real Simple has a trick on how to do that the right way. It's super important that you're careful when dealing with this glassware, and remember that compact fluorescent models need special precautions if they break.
These little guys are super important because a clean bulb will make your home brighter so you'll be able to see better and maybe even use less electricity around the house.
