Marilyn Monroe Shoes Brought Back To Life In New Footwear Line

Marilyn Monroe Shoes Brought Back To Life In New Footwear Line

"Give a girl the right shoes, and she can conquer the world,” Marilyn Monroe is rumored to have said.

Now, almost 51 years after her death, a new line of shoes inspired by the actress' very own footwear collection will soon be available for any woman looking to channel her inner Marilyn. Authentic Brands Group, the owner of the Marilyn Monroe license, announced the collaboration today in Footwear News.

The line, a contemporary take on Marilyn's style, will include everything from flats to pumps to boots -- obviously, the screen siren had a very varied shoe arsenal back in the day. The prices will be pretty affordable, ranging from $39 to $79.

Of course, the fashion world has tapped Marilyn's style genius before. Just last month, Macy's debuted an entire clothing line using the late star's licensed name. Chanel recently used footage of Ms. Monroe talking about its No. 5 fragrance for a promotional video. Plus, she posthumously graced a Dior fragrance commercial in 2011.

Obviously, her fashion influence hasn't waned. The Marilyn Monroe shoe collection will be in stores -- perhaps Macy's? -- in September for Holiday 2013. Will you be buying?

CORRECTION: A previous version of this post misstated how long ago Monroe died as "more than 51 years." The quote attributed to Monroe regarding shoes has also been attributed to Bette Midler.
