If the Skoll World Forum introductory video alone foretells anything about the 10th anniversary, this year's gathering should be pretty refreshing.
The opening plenary session video called for innovation, boldness and a creative spirit, featuring a disruptive technology innovator, a new energy entrepreneur and a social finance entrepreneur -- all urging people out of their silos to come together to solve global crises -- in new ways and at accelerated rates.
Arianna Huffington, President and Editor-in-Chief of the Huffington Post Media Group, represented the dissemination of this information as a featured new media entrepreneur.
"I believe there is wisdom in all of us. I believe there is empathy in all of us. We just need to tap into that," she said in the video.
The Skoll World Forum, an international meeting in Oxford, unites 1,000 delegates from sectors including social, finance, private and public for panels, collaboration and discussions on entrepreneurial solutions to the world's most critical social issues.
This year's sessions, running Wednesday to Friday, include topics ranging from social intrapreneurship to how the media currently drive social change.
Sue Riddlestone, the founder of BioRegional, an organization that consults on sustainable solutions, talked to HuffPost Live Wednesday leading up to her Friday panel on energy poverty.
She highlighted the importance in empowering disadvantaged nations to find renewable energy sources. Riddlestone said the first step is teaching these residents to save energy and then implementing best practices among industries such as the construction sector.
The social entrepreneur described the critical need for energy access, a lack of which takes a toll on education, health and other social issues.
"It means perhaps you don't have enough money to send your kids to school or have a better diet or it's one of those things where perhaps the children wont have lights in their home to study when it gets dark," she told HuffPost Live.

"The people who write the songs and culture of the day are going to change the society more than those in charge of policy and the law," he said.
