WASHINGTON -- This Saturday, D.C. runners will show solidarity with Boston by hitting the pavement.

Second Wind Crossfit in Brightwood is turning their regularly scheduled run into a show of support.

From the Second Wind site:

Saturday’s 10am WOD will be a 5k run in Rock Creek Park. Please join us to show solidarity for the runners and family members of victims of the Boston marathon bombing. Meet at Second Wind as normal for the 10am WOD. We will warm up as we make our way down into the park.

If you would like to meet us at the start line, it will be at the intersection of Morrow Dr and Beach, near the Park Police station at the bottom of the hill. (Just follow Kennedy street into the park and down the hill.)

Family and friends are welcome to join us.

Runners around the country are encouraging each other to get outside on Saturday with the Facebook invite "We Run For Boston." Another invite, "Run 26.2 for Boston," also preaches a message of support.

Athletes are using the Twitter hashtag #runwithboston to help runners find groups and races they can join.
