NFL Schedule 2013 Season: Prime Time Games, Matchups, Announced For All 17 Weeks

Getty Images

Mark your calendars, the NFL has released the 2013 regular-season schedule.

The NFL unveiled the 17-week slate of games on Thursday night. The reigning NFL champion Baltimore Ravens will open the upcoming season on the road against the Denver Broncos on Thursday, Sept. 5, 2013. The NFL had initially hoped the Ravens would begin their title defense at home but a scheduling conflict with the Baltimore Orioles could not be resolved. Instead of opening up in front of their own fans, Joe Flacco and the Ravens will return to the stadium where they won the AFC Championship Game to earn a spot in Super Bowl XLVII.

The Week 1 games wrap up with a pair of matchups on "Monday Night Football." The Washington Redskins host the Philadelphia Eagles and the San Diego Chargers host the Houston Texans.

The season will culminate in Super Bowl XLVIII in East Rutherford, N.J., the first-ever outdoor, cold-weather game for the Lombardi Trophy.
