Don Lemon, Zach Wahls Debate Anti-Gay Scoutmaster (VIDEO)

We bet John Stemberger probably didn't know what he was getting into when he joined CNN earlier this week to discuss the Boy Scouts' ban on gay members. The Boy Scouts of America announced last week that it would consider repealing the ban for scouts (but not for scout leaders.)

Stemberger, a scoutmaster and anti-gay activist, went head-to-head with openly-gay CNN anchor Don Lemon and pro-gay activist and viral video hero Zach Wahls.

Stemberger warned that the repeal would "destroy scouting as we know it."

"What do you mean it's going to destroy scouting? I'm openly gay and I was a Boy Scout," shot back Lemon.

Wahls then refuted Stemberger's claim that the ban is not about discrimination, it's about keeping people's personal lives private.

"It's about really just a code word for the problem they have with gay people," he said. "Scouting is about fostering leadership and important life skills in young men and this policy prevents scouting from truly living its mission."
