After more than a year of dating, Alan got the bad news that many might have seen as inevitable on "Two and a Half Men." Lyndsey told him she wanted to break up.
"I know this is upsetting, but better do this now before it gets worse," she told him. "I still love you, Alan. I’m just not in love with you anymore."
What she didn't tell him was that there was another guy. At least Alan got some revenge sex with the guy's soon-to-be-ex-wife, though it's not clear if Lyndsey or the guy would care much one way or the other. They were having plenty of their own fun, and very vocally, too.
CarterMatt wasn't surprised by the couple's breakup, but felt it did leave some lingering questions. "The most interesting thing about this episode, though, is what this means for Alan’s character long-term," they wrote. "Is there an endgame here? We know that CBS plans to bring the show back for another year, and even if he is a louse at times, he’s still a louse that everyone wants to see some sort of happy ending for."
The only person who was as sad as Alan over the breakup was perhaps Walden, who realized that without Lyndsey, he was now the only person Alan had in his life.
See what happens next for Alan on "Two and a Half Men," Thursdays at 8:30 p.m. ET on CBS.
