Ex-staffer Sues Geoffrey Fieger Over Health Insurance

Detroit -- Southfield attorney Geoffrey Fieger fired an associate who feared the high-profile lawyer's "antics" were jeopardizing a case and later deprived the associate of health insurance out of spite, according to a civil suit filed Friday in federal court.

Former associate Brian Garves sued Fieger's law firm and alleged his health insurance coverage was canceled illegally. The insurance was canceled after Fieger claimed the former associate was fired due to "gross misconduct."
