Ellen DeGeneres Opens Her Home To Firefighters After California Wildfire (VIDEO, PHOTOS)

During the California wildfire, the comedian stepped up and helped out.

Ellen DeGeneres' home was one of many that were threatened by the California wildfires on May 4. And even though the comedienne wasn't there, she offered up a sweet gesture to the brave firefighters.

DeGeneres had her staff open the doors to the eight-cabin farm that she shares with wife Portia de Rossi to 16 firefighters as a way of thanking them for their hard work. "They had dinner there. They had breakfast there. They showered there. We were so glad that we could help them. They worked so, so hard. So thank you to all the firefighters everywhere," she said on her show yesterday.

According to officials, about 2,000 homes were threatened by flames and 15 sustained damage, but none were destroyed.
