This New York firefighter's girlfriend had no idea what her boyfriend was up to when she participated in a mock rescue.
Bride-to-be Giuliana went to the Fire Department of New York's Family Day on Saturday to watch her boyfriend, Marc, demonstrate what he had learned in his firefighter training program. Marc's drill instructor asked her to volunteer to be "rescued" in a demonstration of how firefighters save people trapped in tall buildings.
As she sat in a third-floor windowsill, Marc was lowered down the side of the building to "rescue" her -- then, once he reached her, he said into a microphone, "I've been with you for a while and I've been thinking about doing this for a while, and I was just wondering if you'd marry me."
After Giuliana said "yes," she held onto Marc as he lowered both of them to the ground.
In a blog post on FireCritic.com, Giuliana wrote, "Just as a little girl who sat on her window sill dreaming of who her Prince Charming would be and what her love story would read, my dream came true today!"

In 2010, a firefighter proposed to his girlfriend, a teacher, during a fire prevention event at her school. Another firefighter hung a banner that said, "Will you marry me?" on a fire truck and popped the question to his girlfriend at the fire station in 2009.
