Angie Everhart's Cancer Diagnosis: Actress Undergoing Surgery For Thyroid Cancer

Angie Everhart Diagnosed With Cancer

Angie Everhart has confirmed that she's been diagnosed with thyroid cancer.

In a statement to "Extra," Everhart's rep says, “Word has been trickling out about supermodel/actress Angie Everhart’s health. She wants to set the record straight by letting everyone know that it is true that she has been diagnosed with thyroid cancer, however, the prognosis is very good."

The 43-year-old actress and model will undergo surgery on Tuesday (May 14) and "expects to be back to work and to mommy duties in a few weeks."

"The most important reason she is revealing this information is to encourage people to learn about cancer prevention, its signs and treatment immediately," her rep continues, adding that Everhart "wants to thank everyone who has heard about it and expressed their support."

Everhart struck fame as a redheaded teen, covering fashion magazines like Elle and Glamour before gracing the pages of several issues of the annual Sports Illustrated swimsuit edition. She has also appeared in countless films, including "Last Action Hero," "Payback" and "Take Me Home Tonight."

Get well soon, Angie.
