WASHINGTON -- Sheryl Crow performed, cheerleaders danced and models with down syndrome walked the runway last week at the Global Down Syndrome Foundation’s Be Beautiful Be Yourself Gala at the Ritz-Carlton in Washington, D.C.

Congresswoman Cathy McMorris Rodgers and Congressman Chris Van Hollen were honored with the Quincy Jones Exceptional Advocacy Award for their work advocating for those that are differently-abled. Congresswoman McMorris' 6-year-old son Cole Rodgers acted as the 2013 Ambassador.

Award-winning CNN journalist Kyra Phillips, Emmy award-winning journalist at WUSA 9 Lesli Foster and the first African-American supermodel Beverly Johnson also attended the fashion show, which is, "the single largest annual fundraiser benefitting people with down syndrome," according to the Global Down Syndrome Foundation site.
