Sergio Garcia arrived at the 17th tee at TPC Sawgrass on Sunday tied with Tiger Woods atop the leaderboard. By the time he reached the 18th green, however, his bid to win the The Players Championship was over.

Using his wedge at the tee on 17, Garcia drove his first shot short of the island green and into the water. Garcia looked down in disappointment as he prepared for his next shot.

Then, he did it again. After splashing his first two tee shots in the water, Garcia finished the hole with a quadruple bogey. He hit his tee shot on the 18th hole in the water as well and finished tied for eighth place.

"That hole has been good to me for the most part," Garcia said of the 17th hole after Woods went on to win the tournament, via the Associated Press. "Today, it wasn't. That's the way it is. That's the kind of hole it is. You've got to love it for what it is."

Garcia made a birdie on the 17th hole on Saturday, while managing par on the hole in each of the first two rounds.
