After a season full of feuds, drama and outrageous outfits, Nicki Minaj is stepping down as an "American Idol" judge.
"It's safe to say she isn't coming back to 'Idol,'" an insider reportedly told Us Weekly, adding that she would be shifting her focus back to her music career. "She's OK with it. She had a great time but was only going to do one season anyway."
The news of Nicki's departure comes shortly after Randy Jackson announced that he would be stepping down from the series after serving as a judge for 12 seasons.
"Yo! Yo! Yo! To put all of the speculation to the rest, after 12 years of judging on 'American Idol' I have decided it is time to leave after this season," Jackson said in a statement last week. "I am very proud of how we forever changed television and the music industry. It's been a life changing opportunity but I am looking forward to focusing on my company Dream Merchant 21 and other business ventures."
Although there's no word on what's next for Mariah Carey and Keith Urban, rumor has it that they won't be returning either.
"All four are gone," an insider told The Wrap earlier this month. "They feel they've lost their core audience and they want it back."
The season finale of "American Idol" airs on Thurs., May 16 at 8 p.m. ET on Fox.
