A Chicago boy was found gunned down in the Back of the Yards neighborhood on the city's South Side Tuesday evening.
Authorities identified the victim as 16-year-old Angel Cano; the boy's body was found near 43rd and Paulina streets, ABC Chicago reports.
Police had responded to shots fired in the area around 5:20 p.m. and found Cano dead at the scene, according to the Tribune. An autopsy is scheduled for Wednesday.
Cano's is the 17th death to come from ten straight days of homicides around the city, according to Red Eye's homicide tracker; all but two of those homicides were gun-related.
The Sun-Times reports police have no suspects in custody but are investigating.
