There is no place like home for Victor King McElheny, a visiting scholar at MIT's School of Humanities, Arts and Sciences, and former director of the M.I.T Science Writing Program. At 70 years of age, he knew damned well that he didn't want to go into any assisted living facility, group housing project for retired folk, or a continuing care facility, or heaven forbid, a nursing home.
