Kylie Minogue's 'Skirt': Australian Singer Releases First Track With Roc Nation

Celebrating Her Birthday With A New Song

There's no rest for Kylie Minogue, who's back with her first single since signing with Jay-Z's Roc Nation label in February.

The Australian singer, who also happened to turn 45 on Tuesday, has released "Skirt," a pulsating new song that blends electronic beats with her reverb-heavy vocal effects. The track is co-written by The-Dream and expected to feature on the singer's upcoming 12th studio album -- the first since she parted ways with longtime manager Terry Blamey.

Minogue told Rolling Stone earlier this month that the move to Roc Nation has reinvigorated her. "It's bringing out something different in me, which is cool," she said. "I need to know what it is to do something different -– different style of delivery, different beats, different subject matter."

That "something different" includes a smattering of A-list producers -- Pharrell Williams (Adam Lambert, Kelly Rowland), Stargate (Rihanna, Beyonce) and Darkchild (Whitney Houston, Nelly Furtado) are among the singer's collaborators. Minogue told Rolling Stone the new music will translate well to live performances.
