'Real Housewives Of New Jersey' Premiere Features Hurricane Sandy, Ladies On The Mend (VIDEO)

New 'RHONJ' Season Is A 'Roller Caster'

Get ready for a "roller coaster" of a season when "Real Housewives of New Jersey" returns for Season 5. The "Real Housewives of New Jersey" premiere also features the women picking up after Hurricane Sandy.

Kathy Wakile and Melissa Gorga stopped by HuffPost Live to dish about the ups and downs of Season 5, which premieres on Sunday, June 2. Kathy said the ladies -- Melissa, Teresa Giudice, Caroline Manzo and Jacqueline Laurita -- have all been honest with themselves and that being forced to film together has helped them remember what they originally liked about each other.

"There's a lot of laughs as well, a lot of good times as well," Kathy said. "[It] goes up and down throughout the season. It's not all good times; it's not all bad times. It's kind of like a roller coaster, it does a lot of ... peaks and valleys. That's family for you."

Melissa, Teresa's sister-in-law, said she and the table-flipping reality star are currently on good terms -- despite several fights and screaming matches featured in the Season 5 trailer. "We are in a good spot right now and we are friends and it's genuine," Melissa said.

The new season of "Real Housewives of New Jersey" kicks off right after Hurricane Sandy devastated the Jersey Shore and the women are still fractured after their Season 4 reunion.

"It's crazy and Sandy does help us rebuild," Melissa said. "We have some control over something and it is our family."

"Real Housewives of New Jersey" Season 5 premieres Sunday, June 2 at 8 p.m. ET on Bravo.
