Remember the three senior women who shot to fame when video of their reactions to the Kim Kardashian sex tape hit the Internet? These "Golden Sisters" don't hold anything back, and now, Mary (age 82), Josie (age 74) and Teresa (age 74) will be filming a lot more than sex-tape reactions, thanks to their new show premiering June 1 on OWN.
Born into a large Italian family in the Bronx, Mary and her twin sisters have always been close. The three "Golden Sisters" now live in sunny California, where they frequently get together for lunch, help out with Josie's hair salon and share their outrageous opinions with their many Twitter followers.
But sisters are sisters, and they bicker. In this five-minute sneak peek of the "Golden Sisters" premiere, Mary, Josie and Teresa discuss their very different views of Lady Gaga's wild fashion sense -- "She's crazy," Mary insists -- and reveal which one of them is the best hairdresser. Then, the conversation turns serious as Josie shares a growing concern about her hair salon.
"There [are] a lot of old people in the salon now," she says. "I've got to get young, energetic clients in there... When I opened my salon in 1973, the salon felt young, like disco. Now it feels old, like disco."
Though Mary doesn't see a problem with the clientele, Teresa suggests holding a staff meeting to get input from the salon workers. Of course, whether or not the sisters will agree on a strategy remains to be seen.
Catch the premiere of the "Golden Sisters" on Saturday, June 1, at 10 p.m. ET on OWN.
