John Travolta starred in a new role recently, but this one wasn't onscreen: The 59-year-old actor surprised a couple in Georgia last week when he dropped by, casually, at their wedding.
Travolta was in Georgia getting his pilot's license renewed, reports Yahoo, when he ran into a nice young couple at a bar. The two told the "Grease" star they were getting married the next day and sure enough -- Mr. big movie star showed up at the ceremony and posed for photos with the bride, the groom and the entire wedding party.
Like fellow wedding crashers Katy Perry and Robert Pattinson before him, Travolta didn't go black tie for the occasion and opted instead for jeans, a black tee and a baseball cap. Many of the commenters on Reddit, where the one-of-a-kind wedding photos were posted, pointed out that Travolta wore the same outfit to the wedding as he did the night before at the bar.
That's one story this couple will have to tell generations to come!
Funnily enough, this isn't the first time Travolta crashed a wedding -- although the first time he did, he wasn't yet a huge star. In a 2009 interview with Travolta and Robin Williams, the two told USA Today of the time they crashed a wedding in Santa Barbara back in 1977.
"We were having fun, starting to relax, when we saw there was a wedding next door," Travolta said. "We figured we'd crash it."
"They figured out who we were," Williams added. "Some guy yelled out, 'Hey, they really are Mork and Vinnie Barbarino!'"
UPDATE: June 6 -- Robby Hurd, who told HuffPost he was the member of the wedding party responsible for inviting Travolta to the be in the photos, specified that Travolta didn't meet Katelyn and Ben (the bride and groom) at a bar but rather at the lodge where they stayed. "Very nice guy, and very humble as well," he said of the movie star.
