Bluegrass music and mountain fans are nearing their annual pilgrimage to the San Juan Mountains of Telluride for the summer solstice.
June 20th will mark the first day of summer and the four-day start to the 40th anniversary celebration of the Telluride Bluegrass Festival. Tickets to this mountain music fest sold out in under four hours back on Dec. 5, but the music lineup has only just been released -- and it's sure to please.
“It’s so ridiculous to just be in that valley, to look at those mountains. It’s inspiring and humbling to everyone,” said past Telluride Bluegrass Festival performer Mike Marshall.
This year's festival will include performances by Mumford & Sons, Feist, Tim O'Brien, Dispatch and more.
