Emma Stone Drops 'Crimson Peak,' Mia Wasikowska Reportedly Takes Her Place

Maybe Emma Stone can't have it all -- at least if the "all" in this case is three high-profile films from A-list directors.

According to TheWrap, Stone has dropped out of the Guillermo del Toro film "Crimson Peak" because of a "scheduling issue." About that: Stone recently signed on to star with Colin Firth in Woody Allen's next film, and is attached to an untitled romantic comedy from director Cameron Crowe as well. This is to say nothing of her "Amazing Spider-Man 2" commitments, which continue to be ongoing (and perhaps emotional, if you subscribe to these spoiler-y set photos).

"Crimson Peak" has been described as a "haunted house" thriller, but TheWrap has more details. Stone was set to play a young author who finds out her husband "is not who he appears to be." Mia Wasikowska, last seen being creepy in "Stoker," will take Stone's part. Original cast members Jessica Chastain, Benedict Cumberbatch and Charlie Hunnam are all still set to appear.
