Cat Deeley Loves Hosting 'SYTYCD,' But Contestants Are Making Her Feel Old (VIDEO)

Cat Deeley: 'SYTYCD' Contestants Make Her Feel Like A 'Dinosaur'

Cat Deeley is still as happy hosting "So You Think You Can Dance" today as she was when she first joined the show in its second season. On "Late Night," she marveled that the show has lasted ten seasons.

“Never in my wildest dreams did I envision we’d still be going ten seasons later," she said.

But there is a drawback to the longevity of the show. Deeley said that she gets a startling answer these days when she asks why some of the contestants want to be on the show. They'll say, "Well, I’ve been watching this show since I was nine."

Deeley said it makes her feel lke a dinosaur. But she still loves her job, and think it works out better that she's not a dancer. "It’s more interesting to have a host that’s not a dancer because then it takes all the judgement out of it," she told the Wall Street Journal. "My role is big sister/cheerleader. I’m the person that’s there after they’ve probably had 6 hours to learn a routine, they are aching all over and they’ve gone on live TV and things have either gone right or gone wrong.”

Catch Cat Deeley on "So You Think You Can Dance" every Tuesday at 8 p.m. ET on Fox. She'll also be appearing in an episode of TV Land's "The Exes" in July. "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" airs weeknights at 12:37 a.m. ET on NBC.
