Tony Parker Coaches During Timeout Of Heat-Spurs Game 1 (VIDEO)

WATCH: Tony Parker Can Also Coach

A top point guard is sometimes referred to as a "coach on the floor." Tony Parker can be a coach during timeouts, too.

Moments after sinking the wild circus shot that gave San Antonio a four-point lead over the Miami Heat with just five seconds remaining in Game 1 of the NBA Finals, Parker commandeered the huddle.

Having running his scheme by Spurs coach Gregg Popovich and his assistants, Parker took a knee amidst his teammates and laid out the defensive strategy.

"Thats not a rarity. While the coaches are out talking on the court, we do that so that the players can communicate and talk to each other because most of the time they know more what's going on than we do," Popovich said at a press conference on Friday. "They'll be times when Timmy will sit in that chair or Manu will sit there or Tony will sit there and they'll talk to the team if they have something they want to get across. That's just how we do things."
