Janelle Monae's New Album Set To Feature Collaborations With Prince, Miguel

Janelle Monae Teaming Up With Superstar Musicians

After her bang-up song with Erykah Badu, Janelle Monae is set to add two more A-list collaborators to her upcoming album: Prince and Miguel.

The "Purple Rain" singer has recorded a track with Monae, although the details of the collaboration have remained otherwise under wraps, according to Billboard.

"We are great friends, and he is a mentor to us, to me," Monae reportedly told Billboard. "It's a beautiful thing to have a friend -- someone who cares about your career and wants to see you go far and to push boundaries and shake up the world -- give whatever they possibly can to the cause."

Monae's work with Miguel will sample the Pixies smash "Where Is My Mind?" mashed up with a funk beat. Titled "Primetime," Monae says the track is a love song.

"The Electric Lady," Monae's second studio album, is slated for release this September. The first single, "Q.U.E.E.N.," featured Erykah Badu and produced a stellar video that will hopefully usher in another success for Monae.
