Kennedy Expressway Crash: 14 Injured In Hit-And-Run Collision That Shut Down Outbound Lanes

14 Injured In Crash That Shut Down Kennedy Expressway

Fourteen people were wounded Saturday evening in a hit-and-run crash that partially shut down the busy Kennedy Expressway for over an hour.

Around 8:30 p.m., twelve ambulances were sent to the expressway near the Ohio Street exit after a white van struck a church van carrying 20 passengers in the north center lane, according to the Chicago Tribune. The white van fled the scene.

Two of those injured in the crash were taken to an area hospital in critical condition, but their injuries were not considered life-threatening, police told NBC Chicago.

The crash shut down all outbound Kennedy lanes south of the Ohio feeder.
