'The Newsroom' Season 2 Trailer: Occupy Wall Street, 2012 Elections And More Covered On 'News Night' (VIDEO)

What News Will 'The Newsroom' Cover In Season 2?

The latest trailer for Season 2 of HBO's "The Newsroom" shows the "News Night" team dealing with a whole bunch of new problems, including fallout after Will McAvoy (Jeff Daniels) called the Tea Party "the American Taliban."

"You're going to be officially condemned on the House floor tomorrow," Charlie (Sam Waterston) tells Will.

"When he said it, I thought 'let the chips fall where they may,'" Jane Fonda's ACN CEO character Leona Lansing says. "You know what's happening now? Chips are falling."

The trailer also shows Neal (Dev Patel) covering the Occupy Wall Street story; Jim (John Gallagher, Jr.) volunteering to go out on the road to cover the 2012 elections, mainly because he wants to get away from Maggie (Alison Pill) and her rekindled relationship with Don (Thomas Sadoski); and Sloan (Olivia Munn) getting caught in a nude photo scandal, lamenting, "I'd give anything to feel rage," before punching a guy in the face and kicking him in the groin.

The "News Night" team is also working on a story about "a massive war crime," the kind of story "that makes careers and ends presidencies." And it wouldn't be a good "Newsroom" trailer without Charlie screaming. "We don't have the trust of the public anymore!"

But the sneak peek ends ominously, with a lawyer from the network (played by Marcia Gay Harden) telling Will, "No one responsible for the broadcast will ever work again."
