The 2013 Stanley Cup Playoffs began on April 30. Six weeks later, players from the last two teams skating -- the Boston Bruins and Chicago Blackhawks -- faced the media with obscured faces ahead of Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Finals. Holding to hockey tradition (credited to the New York Islanders of the early 1980s), beards were nearly as plentiful as visible scars when the bruised and battered conference champions met the press on Tuesday in Chicago.
