Shaniqua Davis Allegedly Used Grandmother's Dallas Ministry As Drug House

Holy smokes.

Narcotics detectives in Dallas raided a ministry Thursday to find a bible, pulpit and prayer lists -- as well as "a black handgun, baggies of crack cocaine and a gallon-size bag of marijuana," the Dallas Morning News reports.

Shaniqua Davis, 21, was arrested on felony cocaine and marijuana charges. Her brother, Philip Sterling, 25, and boyfriend, Jarrett Martin, 27, face the same offenses, according to KHOU.

The homeowner, Victory-Phyllis Davis -- a street preacher -- is also the grandmother of Davis and Sterling. She was letting the siblings live at her house, which doubles as a ministry, while they searched for work.

Davis did not appreciate her house of worship co-opted as a house of sin, she said in an interview with the Morning News.

“That’s basically what I preach against when I’m preaching on the streets over there, and I have reported drug houses,” she said. “It’s just ridiculous for them to do that.”
