The precious new trailer for "The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug" has debuted. One word to keep in mind: dragons.
Warner Bros. released the "Hobbit 2" trailer on Tuesday afternoon, just two days before the teaser will screen in front of prints of the studio's "Man of Steel" starting on Thursday night. Directed by Peter Jackson, "The Desolation of Smaug" is the second of three "Hobbit" films, following last year's "The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey" and preceding "The Hobbit: There And Back Again." "Smaug" gets its title from the evil dragon Smaug, voiced and motion-captured by "Star Trek Into Darkness" villain Benedict Cumberbatch. (You can catch a glimpse of him at the end of the trailer above.)
Starring Cumberbatch, Martin Freeman, Sir Ian McKellen, Orlando Bloom, Evangeline Lilly, Luke Evans and Richard Armitage, "The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug" is out in theaters on Dec. 13. Check out the film's first poster below.
